Winfred Earl "Win" Gibbs, 85, of Arcadia, FL passed away November 5, 2020 at his home with his wife and daughter at his side. He was born June 18, 1935 in Punta Gorda, Florida to Samuel and Vernice Gibbs.

Win was a licensed agronomist specializing in golf course design, building and maintenance. In Win's earlier career he was an assistant to his Uncle John Gibbs helping design, build and maintain the Punta Gorda Golf Course. Other golf courses he assisted the design, building and maintaining with his employment with General Development Corporation include LaBelle Golf Couse and Port Malabar Golf Course. He was approached by a chemical salesman of a tremendous opportunity at the Clewiston Golf Course and moved his family to Clewiston Florida where he spent the majority of his career as golf course maintenance supervisor at the Clewiston Golf Couse. He was also a Golf Professional and owned and operated the Clewiston Golf Course Pro Shop for approximately seventeen years there.

Win's career was cut short with a disabling bone disease leading to many years of pain and suffering.

Win was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and camping. One of his favorite past times was raising and training hunting dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Juanita Gibbs of Arcadia, FL; daughter, Vicki Richmond, granddaughters, Kristy (Anthony) Pruitt and Sonya (Jose) Richmond, great grandchildren, Jamey (Andrew) Green and Lorrie (Ricky) Pruitt, great-great grandchildren, Abigail, Alex and Kason.

Win was preceded in death by his son W. Keith Gibbs.

There will be no service at this time, but the family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Tidewell Hospice or any charity of your choice.
