Willis Benton Lindsey, Age-79 of Wauchula, FL passed away on February 1st, 2023 at Tidewell Hospice of Arcadia. Willis was born on September 11th, 1943 in Columbus, GA. He was a resident of Arcadia for the last 70 years and graduated in 1962 from DeSoto High School. He was a Correctional Officer for the state of Florida for many years until he retired. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Wauchula. Willis enjoyed, gardening, fishing and working on his truck but most of all doing anything with his grandson he wanted to. He was an avid Florida Gators fan and a devoted papa.

He is survived by a daughter Tanya (Robert) Sasser of Wauchula, FL and one son Dwayne (Anita) Lindsey of Arcadia, FL. One brother, Richard Earle (Nancy) Lindsey of St Petersburg, FL; two sister, Martha Jean (Ronnie) Harrison of Sneads, FL and Sarah Jane (Bill) Gallagher of Lake Placid, FL. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe B. Lindsey mother, Mary O. Lindsey and his wife Annie L. Lindsey.

A visitation will be held on Monday February 6th from 10-10:30 a.m. at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 50 North Hillsborough Ave. Immediately following a graveside service will be held at Oakridge Cemetery, Arcadia, FL at 11:00 am. Pastor Ellis Cross Officiating.
