William J. Mullen, age 84, of Punta Gorda, Fl. passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009 in Punta Gorda. He was born November 25, 1924 in Washington, DC., came to Punta Gorda in 1991 from Arcadia, Fl. William retired from the Washington Navy Yard as Head Photographer in the training aids division, NDW (Naval District Washington). William also served in WWII as a photographer in the Signal Corp with the U. S. Army. He was a member of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees) and the American Legion . Survivors are his nephew Joseph Cagle, Seminole, Fl. and best friend Margarait Maggart of Deep Creek community, Port Charlotte, Fl. William is preceded in death by his wife Willie Mat Mullen in 1988. Visitation will at Kays-Ponger-Usselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte, Fl. from 11:30AM until 1:30PM, October 9, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at Kays-Ponger-Usselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte, Fl. with entombment in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Forrest Nelson Blvd., Port Charlotte, Fl.
