Obituary

William Kiner Morris, age 78, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 25 th , 2022. He passed peacefully in his sleep in the comfort of his home in Arcadia, FL after his long fight with cancer.

Born July 26, 1944, he was the youngest of three children born to Reta Kiner and Gerald Morris. He was a good student and athlete and enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. After graduating from Susquenita High School he started working for Masland Carpet in Carlisle, PA from which he retired after 50+ years of service. He enjoyed attending church at Cornerstone Christian Church in Duncannon, PA before moving to FL, and had many great friends there. He called Cross Creek home for the last 10+ years where he looked after and maintained homes while owners were away. He had many friends here and enjoyed playing poker, playing cards and sitting on the porch talking and sharing coffee. He enjoyed the outdoors, both fishing and hunting, and had been a member of the Duncannon Sportsmen Club. He also loved watching college football, especially Penn State, and Clarion where his son Matthew played at for 4 yrs.

He was a kind, fair and gentle man.  He was the kind of man that everyone would instantly like and respect. He always had a ready smile and hug for you. He was a great friend to many and enjoyed spending time with them playing cards or sharing meals. He loved his family and friends in a quiet manner, never wanting to intrude upon anyone or cause anyone to worry about him. Above all he loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and especially his wife, Kathy.  He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 31 yrs., Kathy Skelton Morris.

His children, Gerald Harper Morris of Austin, TX, Matthew William Morris of Boiling Springs, PA, Jodi Ann Morris and husband Edwin Watts, Lisa Jo Morris and husband Kevin Wilson both of Duncannon, PA.

Additionally, two daughters Michelle Luker and husband Darren Duke of Cape Coral, FL and Kelly Luker with wife Cindy Luker of Saraland, AL.

12 grandchildren, Owen Laird, Jordan Laird (wife Kelsie), Alysha Jefferies (wife Jade), Brianna Watts, Josh Noss, Travis Gordon, Jade Wilson (wife Kathryn) Taylor Wilson, Kathryn Cody (husband Derek), Audrey Nix, Bailey Burris and Zackery Burris.

6 great grandchildren, Galexy Laird, River Laird, Orion Laird, Wyatt Lesher (Jefferies), Hadley Wilson, and Isaiah Cody.

His nephews, Richard Morris (wife Peg), Randy Morris (wife Tammy), Mark Lightner (wife Terry), Scott Lightner (wife Grace), and many other great nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reta Arlene Kiner and Gerald Wayne Morris, along with his stepfather Roy E. Stoner, brother Barry Morris, sister Joan Morris (Lightner), and great nephew Alex Morris.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 8 th at Cross Creek Resort in Arcadia, FL from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm in the activity building followed by a small luncheon.  His wishes were to have his ashes spread in his hometown of Duncannon, PA which will be his final resting place.
