Virginia Hasty Liskey, age 83, passed away on January 30, 2021, in Arcadia, FL. She was born on December 23, 1937, in Wauchula, FL to the late J.W. and Mary Waters Hasty. Her family moved to Arcadia where she lived for over 70 years. Virginia was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church in Arcadia for most of her life.
Virginia was a strong matriarch, wise and unfiltered. She was a sharp businesswoman with a firecracker character you will never forget! Virginia owned and operated several businesses of her own and her family. Virginia graduated from DeSoto High, Class of 1955. Virginia was a very active person her entire life, she loved riding horses and participated in the Arcadia Quad-drill. She enjoyed bowling with friends, quilting, sewing, riding motorcycles, and traveling with her husband Lowell and three dogs. Her family remembers stories she told of sneaking cokes from the soda fountain at the Bus Station Café. Last but not least her biggest accomplishment was her love for her family. She enjoyed spending time with them and they meant the world to her.
She is survived by her children; Jim (Cheryl) Albritton and John Wayne (Mary) Albritton all of Sarasota, FL., step-son Alan(Pam) Liskey of Sebring, FL and step-daughter Lori Brockwell of Avon Park, FL.; brother Jerrill " Wayne" Hasty; two grandchildren Robert "Kelly" (Robin) Albritton and Jenny Vest; four step-grandchildren Todd Brockwell, James Brockwell, Amber Fussell, and Shane and McKenzie Liskey; seven great-grandchildren Josephine, Vivian, and Zuri Albritton, Tyler, Taylor, Jenelle, and Tegan Vest and one step-granddaughters Tory West; nieces Dana Roberts and ViviAnn Nott.
Virginia is preceded in death by husbands James Frank Albritton and Lowell Quintin Liskey and her parents.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 11:00 am at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia with Rev. Ellis Cross of North Hillsborough Baptist Church officiating.
