Verna Faye McConnell, age 77 passed away Wednesday morning July 3, 2024 in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born in Arcadia to Henry Tompkins and Lottie Douglas on September 4, 1946. She was a member of Myakka City Church of God, and Arcadia Church of God.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden, going fishing with family, reading her bible, attending Church and raising her own vegetables.

She is survived by her husband Harold McConnell, and son Michael (Kim) McConnell, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, also many other family and friends.

Verna is preceded in death by her parents, brothers George Tompkins, and James Tompkins. Sisters Myrtice Beck and Emily Harrison, and son David McConnell.

Visitation will be July 20, 2024 at the Arcadia Church of God from 10-11am the service will follow at 11am. The burial will be at Oak Hill. Reverend Brad Stidham, Reverend Jurstin Smith, and Reverend Nathan Headrick will be officiating.
