Vera Mae Rose, age 84 formally of Wauchula went to be with the Lord, June 16, 2011 in The Villages, FL. She was born February 24, 1927 in Nashville, GA. Vera lived in Hardee county for fourteen years moving here from Plant City. She was of Pentecostal faith and enjoyed going to church, spending time with her grand children, reading her Bible, cooking and listing gospel music. She is survived by one son Aulton W. Rose, Jr. of Summerfield, FL; one daughter Joyce (Howard) Russell of Fruitland Park, FL, and one son-in-law Donald Bennett ; three sisters Hazel T. Pippin of Plant City, Louise Robbins of Zephyrhills, and Mattie Lou (Dan) Stump of Plant City; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her beloved husband Aulton W. Rose, Sr. and one daughter Mary R. Bennett. The Visitation will be held from 5pm 7pm, Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 404 W Palmetto St, in Wauchula. Services will be 11am Monday, June 20, 2011 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Wauchula with Pastor Wendell G. Smith of Faith Temple Church of God. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
