Velaska O. Keene, age 95, passed away January 16, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. She was born October 30, 1915 in Ona, FL. Velaska was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia. She loved going to Sunday School and church. She also loved her standing Tuesday hair appointment but her greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished being a farmer s daughter and the wife of a cattleman and farmer. Velaska was a member of the Sarasota and Arcadia Woman s Club and past president of the Ladies Elk Club. Survivors are two daughters; Patricia Pat (Glenn) Padgett, of Arcadia and Nell (Hoyt) Nix of Sarasota, FL, five grandchildren. Randy (Sharla) Padgett, Arcadia, FL, Glenda (the late Donald) Edwards, Kenansville,FL, Donald (Michelle) Padgett, Arcadia, FL, Micheale (Roger) Bennett, Sarasota, FL. and Lisa (Cy) Bispham, Jr., Sarasota, FL seven great grandchildren Mendy (Troy) Riddle, Foster, OK, Laurel Padgett, Arcadia, Tricia (Jamie) Baker, Williston, FL, Monica (Nick) Emmons, Kenansville, FL, Nicole (Ben) Adams, Arcadia, Richard Moffitt, Durham NC., Trey Bispham, Sarasota, FL., five great great grand children, Makayla and Haylee Baker, Williston, FL, Caleb and Brady Adams, Arcadia, and Kipten Emmons, Kenansville, FL. Velaska also leaves a sister; Willie Shores, Richmond Hills, GA. Velaska lived a joyful and complete life. She will be deeply missed but her legacy will be celebrated by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Porter Owen Keene, brothers; Curtis and Gabe Albritton, sisters; Ila Roberts and Hulda Wood, Parents; Gettis and Rosa Albritton. Visitation will be conducted 10:00AM until 11:00AM Friday, January 21, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Arcadia, FL. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of Arcadia with Rev.
