Uriel Vargas Gomez, age 68 passed away Friday June 16, 2023 in Sarasota, Florida. He was born April 10, 1955 in Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Pantaleon Vargas Vega and Consolation Gomez Medina. He has been a resident for 36 years. Uriel was loyal to his job. He loved playing cards, music and his family. Uriel was a good dancer, and loved watching his grandchildren grow and spoiling them.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Sofia Sanchez Vazquez, and children Juan Carlos Vargas Sanchez, Arnulfo Vargas Sanchez, Juana Vargas Sanchez, and Felix Vargas Sanchez. Grandchildren Crystal Avalos, Marbella Vargas Avalos, Rodrigo Vargas Avalos, Katelyn Vargas Avalos, Edivier Vargas Avalos, Sophie Ibarra Vargas, Penelope Vargas Espinoza, Liam Ibarra Vargas, and Mateo Ibarra Vargas, and great granddaughter Ariyeli Avalos.

Visitation will be Friday, June 23, 2023, from 10-12pm at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia, Florida. Mass will be at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 1:00pm with Father Luis officiating. Interment following at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
