George Tom Thomas Wheeler, II age 54 of Zolfo Springs passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Florida Hospital Wauchula. He was born August 20, 1957 in Gainesville, FL and moved to Zolfo Springs in 1973 coming from Lakeland. Tom was an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his daughters and grandson. He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Buchanan Wheeler. Tom is survived by two daughters Rebecca (JC Richardson) Wheeler of Wauchula, Katie Wheeler of Zolfo Springs; one grandson Colby Richardson of Wauchula, father George (July) Wheeler of Zolfo Springs; one sister Janice Wheeler of Zolfo Springs; and a special four legged son Doc . Visitation will be 1:00pm to 2:00pm Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 404 W Palmetto St in Wauchula. Memorial Services will follow the visitation at 2:00pm, in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, with Marcus Shackelford and Pastor Danielle Upton of First United Methodist Church of Wauchula officiating.
