Thomas Patrick Murphy, age 74, passed away February 15, 2023 in Arcadia, FL.  Mr. Murphy was born August 28, 1948 in Alpena, Michigan to the late Vern and Mary Helen Kennedy Murphy.  He was a resident of Arcadia for the past 19 years, wintering from Alpena, Michigan.   Thomas retired from General Motors Corp.  He also was an honorably discharged, highly decorated, veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam.  Mr.  Murphy enjoyed Redwings Hockey, karaoke, golfing, fishing, "being the life of the party", boating, camping, woodworking, and creating things out of PVC.  He was a member of the Eagles, Moose, and the American Legion and VFW.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara (Cloft) Murphy, from Alpena, Michigan,  one daughter, Kelly (Barry) Walton, of Clio, Michigan, one son, Bryan (Jen) Murphy, of Gladwin, Michigan, he also leaves four grandchildren, Dakota Walton and Sierra Walton of Clio, Michigan and Kody Murphy and Kiley Murphy both of Gladwin, Michigan, also  5 step grandchildren  and six great step grandchildren of Michigan,  brother in-law Brian (Shari) Cloft of Alpena, Michigan and brothers, William (Rosalie) Murphy, of Durand, Michigan, Michael (Mary Jo) Murphy, of Traverse City, Michigan and one sister, Jane (Norm) Becker of Sparta, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

A "Celebration of Life" for Mr. Murphy will be held at a later date.
