Thomas Marce Hartley age 86 of Wauchula passed away Tuesday, November 01, 2011. He was a life long resident of Wauchula born June 13, 1925 in Tyro, MS and move to Hardee County at the age of eight. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Wauchula and was the owner of Peace Valley Automotive until his retirement. Marce enjoyed growing citrus and working cattle and loved bowling. He faithfully served his country in the Army Air Corp. Marce is survived by his beloved wife Ila Mae Hartley; two sons Tommy Hartley wife Julia and Jimmy Hartley wife Cindy all of Wauchula; one daughter Marlene Taylor husband Melvin of Myakka Head; five grandchildren Tommy Hartley, Anna Moreno husband Joe, Aleda Ealom husband Troy, Melissa Hartley, Marga Taylor; five great-grandchildren Brooke Hartley, Thalia Hartley, Jasmin Elaom, Leiana Ealom, and Maranda Hitchcock. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary Elmore Hartley. Visitation will be 6pm 8pm Thursday, November 03, 2011 in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 404 W Palmetto St in Wauchula. Services will be 10am, Friday, November 04, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Wauchula with Pastor Steve Polk and Pastor Danielle Upton officiating. Burial will follow in Paynes Creek Cemetery in Bowling Green.
