Theresa Gay Morgan, age 70 passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born September 5, 1953 in Arcadia, Florida to Theodore and Amelia Ellis Shine.

She loved watching soap operas and old westerns, enjoyed cooking, cleaning her home and working at a day care taking care of small children. Theresa shared friendships with all walks of life, very tenderhearted. Theresa belonged to Mt. Pilgrim Church.

Theresa is survived by her loving husband Tyrone Morgan, and sons Shakamansa Askia Gilchrist of Arcadia, Florida, Tyrone (Kiristi Jones) Morgan Jr., daughter Tonica (Cory) Morgan, brothers Michael (Althena) Shine of St. Lucie, Florida, Theodore (Sheena) Shine of Arcadia, Florida, Norman (Para) Shine of Arcadia, Florida, Franklin (LaShell) Shine of Arcadia, Florida, Sheldon (Belinda) Shine of Arcadia, Florida, Corey (Brenda) Shine of Arcadia, Florida. Sisters Vanessa (Kenneth) Christian of Arcadia, Florida, Valerie (Christopher) White of Arcadia, Florida, Janette (Jeffrey) Martinez of Port Charlotte, Florida, Dorothy Calhoun of Arcadia, Florida, Sandra Harris of California and seven grandchildren Shaba Gilchrist Jr.., Nazra Gilchrist, Kemorian Collins, Justice Gilchrist, Alliyah Gilchrist, Kyel, and Emoni, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by Alihundra Otto Shine, Amelia Shine, Theodore Shine and Tyrone Shine.
