Thelma H. Collins, age 80, of Zolfo Springs, Fl. passed away March 27, 2009 in the care of Tidewell Hospice House, Pt. Charlotte , Fl. Thelma was born Dec. 10, 1928 in Pleasant Hill, Oh., moving to Zolfo Springs 15 years ago from Lincolnton , NC . She and her husband owned and operated a restaurant (Charlie s Apple-Y, Sidney , OH.) prior to their retirement. Thelma enjoyed cooking, sewing, working word puzzles, and playing cards with her friends at The Bluffs clubhouse. Thelma was a very witty person, always trying to make people laugh, and many loved her sense of humor. Thelma attended the Assembly of God Church, Wauchula, Fl. and the Brownsville Baptist Church on occasion . Survivors are her husband Charlie H. Collins, Zolfo Springs, three sons; Charles Gary (Rose) Collins, Quakertown , PA. , Larry L. Collins, Sellersville, PA., and Steve (Jaime) Collins, Detroit , MI .. She also leaves three daughters; Donna Jobes of Mansfield, OH . Dixie Wagner, DeMoines, IA., and Niki Dunham, St. Marys, OH. Thelma has 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and a brother; Daniel Burch (Cheryl), Lewis Town, OH . Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, Vurgel and Grace Burch, two sisters. and five brothers. A Celebration of Life, to honor Thelma will be held at 4:00PM, Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Brookside Bluffs Clubhouse, 7729 Bluffs Blvd. ,Zolfo Springs, Fl.
