Susan Parker Martin 2/23/1947 - 8/11/2024

Susan Parker Martin, 77 was born in Westfield, New York on February 23, 1947 and moved to Wauchula, Florida as a young child. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2024 at home with Good Shepherd Hospice.

Susan "Sue" was bookkeeper for most of her professional life working for numerous Automotive Dealerships and lastly for Purcell's Wrecker Service in Arcadia, Florida before retiring. Sue postponed her career for a number of years to care for her youngest daughter paralyzed in a car accident in 1991 and devoted her time to being sole caregiver. She never wavered on her role as protector, nurse, and Mom. Sue and same daughter co-founded Alibi Racing and competed in NASCAR Goody's Dash Series for five years before dissolving the team. A Mother-Daughter bond that cannot be described in a few words.

Sue is survived by her two daughters, Gwen Martin Shaw and Christina Martin (Ed) Huddleston, and two nieces Cori (Dave) Jensen and Reggie (Keith) Humphrey. Also not to be forgotten Bo, her constant and loyal dachshund who never left her side. Sue's love for animals was unmeasurable. She was preceded in death by her parents Beverly "Bunny" Parker and Lois Nickerson Parker, sister Rachel (infant death), and sister Shelly Parker Massey.

Sue will be dearly missed and remembered as the most amazing Mom. Everyone who knew her was blessed and fortunate to know such an amazing and strong woman. She was a Christian and left this Earth too soon, but no longer is in pain. Celebration of Life will determined at a later date for family and love ones.
