Susan Margaret Brodowsky, age 79, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away in her home surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 8, 2022. Susan was born in Braintree, Essex, England on June 5, 1943, to David and Edna Hazelwood.

Susan attended Chapel Hill Primary School in Braintree and later Halstead Girls High School for Young Ladies.  She trained in hairdressing and worked for many years in the retail field of business.

She came to the United States in the early 1960's. One of her happiest moments was when she became a US citizen in 2008 at the age of sixty-five. Susan enjoyed spending time in her garden, reading, beading, and Native American crafts.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt.

Susan is survived by her husband of 49 years, Julius Brodowsky; sons, Stuart (Judy) Hoppel of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, David (Tracy) Hoppel of Arcadia, Florida, Julius (Karen) Brodowsky, Jr. of Estacada, Oregon and Barry (Robin) Brodowsky of Mineral Bluff, Georgia. Her daughters are Donna (Rodney) DeLoach of Arcadia, Florida and Denise Duerr of Deland, Florida. There are also two sister-in-laws, Jean Taylor of Venice, Florida and Rosalind Hazelwood of Halstead, Essex, England. Also, her childhood friend, Rosemary Alderman Forbes of Rotunda West, Florida and 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Edna Hazelwood, her brother John Hazelwood and her great granddaughter, Laney Omar.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 11:00AM in the chapel at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, Arcadia located at 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Florida 34266.
