Obituary

Smiley Accom S. A. Browning, age 83, passed away March 6, 2008 in Lake Placid, Fl. where he had living for the past year, at the home of his grandson Todd Walker. S. A. was born in Arcadia, Fl. Sept. 24, 1924 to Frank and Ida Browning. S. A. graduated from DeSoto High School, class of 1942. S. A. honorably served with the U. S. Army during WWII serving with the 87th Field Artillery, 105th Battery. He returned from the military service to begin a 37 year career with the Seaboard Atlantic Railroad, retiring as a Section Foreman. S. A. was a member of the V. F. W. Post #10285, the American Legion, both in Wauchula, Fl. and the Maintenance of Railway Union. He was a member of the Ona Baptist Church, Ona, Fl. S. A. is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Vinson, Atlanta, Ga. and Ida Estelle Douglas, Zolfo Springs, Fl. He also leaves three grand children, Michael Todd (Debbie) Walker, Lake Placid, Fl., Shane Allen (Jayne) Thompson, Marietta, Ga., and Mark (Karen) Walker, Zolfo Springs, Fl., 9 great grand children, Bryce Walker, Betheney Walker, Cody Walker, Riley Beeson, Bailey Beeson, Ashley Heine, Heather Heine, Kyle Heine, and Rachel Quinn. Visitation will be conducted from 4:00PM until 6:00PM Sunday, March 9, 2008. from the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Monday, March 10, 2008 from Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, Arcadia, Fl. Burial will be in Joshua Creek Cemetery.
