Sherry Tyree

Sherry Perdue Tyree born June 19, 1947 passed away on July 10, 2026 in Arcadia, FL. Sherry was born in Gulfport, Mississippi and moved to Arcadia in 1958. Sherry and her late parents: Emmett and Pat Perdue moved to DeSoto County from Gulf Port, Mississippi in 1958 to pursue work with Gulf Naval “The Stump” plant that was located in Nocatee, FL. Sherry graduated from DeSoto County High School Class of 65’ and she retired from the DeSoto County School system with 22 years at “DeSoto Middle School” in 2012 where she retired from as a discipline secretary. Sherry was a Charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Arcadia, FL.

Sherry is survived by her Daughter: Marty Lynn Tyree, Arcadia, FL; Son: Eric Neill Tyree, Nocatee, FL., and Brother: Jerry Perdue, Brooksville, FL.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents: Emmett and Mattie “Pat” Perdue, Her husband: Neill Tyree (married 44+ years) and Grandson: Charles Wright Neill Tyree.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be at Ponger Kays Grady on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 9:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Joshua Creek Cemetery with Pastor Ellis Cross Officiating.
