Sherman William Brookins, age 52, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Zolfo Springs, Florida. He was born November 26, 1970, in Bartow, Florida to Early Floyd Brookins and Jackie Johnson. Sherman is a lifelong resident of Florida, graduated from Lake Wales. He worked for Mosaic as a heavy equipment operator. Sherman worked hard for his family, but enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and making you smile, and working on something to stay busy. Shermans family will remember him as a loving partner, father and his love of telling "tall tales".

He is survived by his significant other Sherri Douglas, his mother Jackie Johnson Brookins, his children Elexis Brookins from Zolfo Springs Florida, Haylee Davis from Zolfo Springs, Florida, Keri Graham from Wauchula, Florida, siblings Toni Brookins from Bradley Junction, Florida, Sheryl Hunter from Mulberry, Florida, and Rena Dennis from Mulberry, Florida, and 3 grandchildren, 15 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Early Floyd Brookins.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 10:00 am at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Wauchula, Florida. Pastor Ellis Cross officiating.
