Sharon T. Jeter, age 65, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away August 27, 2010 in Port Charlotte, FL. Sharon was born August 25, 1945 in Plant city, FL moving to Arcadia over 38 years ago from Ft. Myers, FL. Sharon was a homemaker who was looked at as a mother and grandmother by many. She was commonly referred to as Momma J. and MeeMaw . Raising three children, Sharon was quite the sports enthusiast, acting as a coach to her sons and #1 fan to her grandchildren. Sharon was extremely proud of the achievements of the Southern Shockers , a girl s softball organization her son Michael helped organize and is the Acting President of the Southern Shockers. Sharon was of the Baptist faith. Survivors are her son; Michael (Andrea) Jeter, Arcadia, FL, a daughter-in-law; Deborah Jeter, also of Arcadia, FL. Sharon leaves three brothers; Paul (Carol) Terry, TN., Edison Terry, Arkansas, and Dean Terry, Texas; a sister; Clarice (Phil) Bannerman, Texas, four grandchildren; Garrett Jeter, McKayla Jeter, Malyssa Jeter, and Mason Jeter all of Arcadia, FL. Sharon also leaves several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Sharon is preceded in death by her beloved husband Floyd Jeter, Sr. in 1999, two sons; Floyd Jeter, Jr. and Gregory Jeter; two brothers; Doyle Terry and Larry Terry; a sister; Bernice Yawn; parents; Edgar and Geneva Terry. A memorial service in celebration of Sharon s life will be held 5:00PM Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Pine Level United Methodist Church, Pine Level, FL. Pastor Lige Buck Jeter and Pastor Dwight Powell will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will take place on the grounds of Pine Level United Methodist Church after the memorial services are completed. A memorial garden will be planted in Sharon s honor at the Shocker field. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donors gift plants so that they may be planted in her garden.
