Sharon Kay Avard went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was born on May 23,1949 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to Lloyd Zimmerman and Velva Stouffer. Sharon had lived in the community for 51 years.

She was a School Teacher for many years, she loved teaching Bible Study and organizing anything that appeared out of place. She loved her family, God and the Church. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Arcadia. She witnessed to anyone at any time or place, especially at the Oaks.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Avard, Eric Avard, Dorothy Scalia and Ronald Zimmerman.

She is survived by her sons; Adam (Wendy) Avard of Tennessee, Mark (Char) Avard of Pt. Charlotte, Florida, daughters; Regina (Dave) Hackney of Arcadia, Florida, Linda Carol (Jim) Breden of Rolla, Missouri, and sister Barbara (David) Pogue of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

She had 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to 1st Baptist Church of Arcadia.

There will be a visitation on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home at 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Florida, 34266. The service will follow at 11:00AM with Pastor Merrell Henry officiating. Burial will be at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
