Scottie Baxter, 58, of Wauchula, FL, died Tuesday, July 28,2026. He was born in Bartow, FL on November 16, 1967, the son of Scottie and Martha Thomas Baxter.

He was a songwriter and played Gospel music at churches, singing wonderful gospel songs. His favorite thing to do was play his guitar and also work with wood, making cabinets and crafts. He enjoyed fishing and writing songs for the Lord and playing his guitar with Gospel groups.

He loved spending time with his wife, family, children and grandchildren and his dog Lola Rose, whom he loved deeply.

He's survived by his wife Valarie Bryant Baxter his children: Joshua (Courtney) Baxter, Kayla Sanders, Justin (Ashley) Estes of Tennessee, and stepsons Joel (Merri) Mellen, and Isaac Sullivan of Florida. His siblings include Rhonda (James) Tillman, Retha (Jeff) Griner, Sharlin Griner, and Phillip (Melissa) Baxter. There are also 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and a host of family and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents Martha (Thomas) and Scottie Baxter of Bartow, Florida.
