Scott C. Reid Sr. (Scooter), 60, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025. He was the born in Detroit, Michigan on August 25, 1965 to Donald and Marylou Nowak Reid.
Scooter was a lineman by trade for over 35 years and worked for several different companies during his lifetime, as it became his passion. The first hurricane restoration he worked was when Hurricane Hugo hit South Carolina in 1989. At the time of his death, he worked for ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC as a Production Lead.
Scooter enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Ramsey, who lives next door to him. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, work and watching football and hockey. When his health allowed, he attended Ft. Green Baptist Church.
Scooter will be remembered as the best husband, father, and grandfather that focused everything on his family and faith. He was also quite the jokester and loved pulling a joke on someone.
He was preceded in death by his son Scott Christopher Reid Jr., his dad and stepmom Donald and Sharron Reid, mother Marylou Somos, grandmother Mary Nowak, brother Clinton Reid, brother in law Rufus Sasser, father in law Luther Sasser, and father in law Ronnie "Punk" Albritton.
Scooter is survived by his wife Stephanie Reid, son Hunter (Haley) Reid, niece that was like a daughter Amber Naranjo, brother Donald Reid, sister Cheryl Vandewege, mother in law Margie Albritton, 3 grandchildren Ramsey Reid, Meyan Reid and Paisley Reid, along with several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his little fur buddy Louie.
Scooter's unwavering love of family and wisdom will be cherished. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Scooter requested that no services be held. Memorial donations can be made to Hardee Animal Rescue Team (HART) or a charity of your choice.
