Rosetta Short, 87, of Sebring, Florida peacefully passed away May 2nd, 2026, at the Good Shepard Hospice House in Sebring, Florida. Rosetta was born in Parrish, Alabama to Leonard and Gladys Hutto Holderfield. Rosetta then moved to Fort Myers, Florida with her family, where she met her husband, Jesse (JD), and the two of them moved to Arcadia, Florida. Jesse (JD) and Rosetta were married on October 3rd, 1957, and remained married for the next 68 years. Rosetta is proceeded in death by her older brother, William Holderfield. She is survived by her husband, Jesse (JD) Short of Sebring, Florida. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Smith and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Mary Lou Short. Rosetta also has numerous nieces and nephews whom she helped raise and loved dearly.
Services will be held graveside at the Oak Hill Cemetery of Arcadia on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at 11:00a.m.
Once services conclude family and friends are invited to a luncheon at First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine in Sebring, Florida.
