Rosetta M. Douglas, age 87, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 in Arcadia. She was born April 11, 1923 in Gardner, FL. and was a lifetime resident. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Gardner Baptist Church, Gardner, FL. Rosetta was a very independent woman that never let her loss of sight become an adversity. She enjoyed fishing, gardening in her yard and walked over a mile each day to pick up her mail. She is survived by four brothers, Lawrence Douglas of Zolfo Springs, FL., Lloyd (Louise) Douglas of Corpus Christi, TX, Glen O. (Martha) Douglas of Zolfo Springs, FL Jack H. (Mary) Douglas of Orlando, FL; one sister Julia Mae Griffin of Palm Bay, Fl; two sister in laws, Marie Douglas of Roanoke, AL and Gladys Douglas of Zolfo Springs, FL. numerous nieces and nephews. Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Laura Belle Douglas, brothers Robert E. Douglas, Russell Douglas, Edward Douglas, Jr., Lawdy Douglas and Frederick Douglas. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 1:30PM until 2:00PM at Gardner Baptist Church, US Hwy 17 S., Gardner, FL. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM following the visitation at the Gardner Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Burial will be at Gardner Cemetery.
