Rosa S. Deriso, age 93, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. She was born January 16, 1918 in Arcadia and a lifetime resident. She was of the Methodist faith and grew up in the Methodist Church in Arcadia. Rosa was a very loving mother and grandmother; she will be remembered for her caring ways. Rosa loved to make home cooked meals and make everyone feel welcome at home with her hospitality. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening in her yard. Rosa graduated from Desoto High School, Class of 1936. After high school she received her Registered Nurses license from Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She is survived by three sons; Frank (Elizabeth) Deriso, Sam Charles Deriso and Joel (Suzanne Susie ) Deriso all of Arcadia, FL.; daughter in law, Debbie Deriso of Ocala, FL.; ten grandchildren Brian Deriso, Mary Ann Duncan, Terri Lynn Rios, Charles Deriso, Jr., J C. Deriso, II, Jenna Brucker, Jordan Deriso, Jillian Deriso, Josie Deriso and Jared Deriso. and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Cleo Beasley Stribling; sons David Deriso and Terry Scott Deriso, one grandchild; brother Henry Goolsby and three sisters; Jean Latimer, Zona McCorqodale and Norma Jane Avant. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 10:00AM until 11:00 AM at Pine Level United Methodist Church, 9596 NW Pine Level St., Arcadia. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at the church with Rev.Robert F. Thomas and Brian Russell officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia.
