Ronald Joseph Betts, age 69, passed away November 8, 2010 in Arcadia, FL. Ronald was born July 1, 1941 in Sarasota, Fl . He lived in Myakka City for many years, before moving to Arcadia in 1985. He was a Master Carpenter, working in the building industry. Ronald enjoyed cooking for the band boosters at DeSoto High School and also the Arcadia Rodeo Association. He was of the Church of Christ faith. Ronald is survived by his wife; Jean Elam Betts, Arcadia, three sons; Richard Betts, Hampton, VA, Russell Betts, Port Charlotte, FL, and Roy Betts, Orlando, FL, three step-sons; Neil Thomas, Arcadia, Robert Thomas, Sarasota, Douglas Thomas, Jacksonville, FL. two step-daughters; Becky and Patricia Thomas, Arcadia, FL. He leaves a brother; Larry Betts, four sisters; Elsie Dotson, Dallas, TX, Carolyn Grubbs, Sarasota, Jeanette Strickland, Milton, FL, and Shirley Bryant, Myakka City, FL, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; Herman and Dolly Betts. A celebration of the life of Ronald Joseph Betts will be November 12, 2010 from 6:00PM until 7:00PM.
