Mr. Roger A. Bauknight of Myakka City passed away on September 17, 2022. He was born on August 19, 1960 in Hialeah, Florida.  He had lived in the area for 62 years.

Roger owned and operated his own lawn maintenance business but had been previously employed by Bar Cresent S Ranch. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Strickland Bauknight, Myakka City, Florida as well as his daughters and a son, Rebecca (Jonathan) Machovina, Sweetwater, Tennessee, Hunter (Sydney) Bauknight, Myakka City, Florida, and Sheryl Bauknight of Zolfo Springs, Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Deidra DeStefano of Lake Placid, Florida.

He has three grandchildren: Serenity Bauknight, Luke Doyle, and Temple Bauknight.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Bauknight and Gertrude Gill Bauknight and a brother.

A celebration of life memorial dinner will take place on Sunday, October 16th at 2:00pm at Horse Creek Camp 8491 State Road 54 W, Ona, FL. 33865.

In Lieu of flowers , the family has asked the contributions can be made to Tidewell Hospice or New Zion Baptist Church.
