Robert E. Yates, age 41, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008. He was born May 10, 1967 in Punta Gorda, Fl. and is a lifetime resident of DeSoto County. Robert loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He was described as a Great Family Man wonderful husband and father. A pastime he also really had a passion for was working on his pickup truck. Robert was a commercial truck driver for Sutton Trucking, locally. He is survived by his loving wife Tina M. Yates, of Arcadia, Fl., three sons Robert E. Yates and Joey T. Yates, both of Kinston, Al., Ryan W. Yates of Arcadia, Fl. and one daughter Samantha A. Yates, of Arcadia, Fl. his parents Lloyd A. and Peggy M. Yates, of Arcadia, Fl. five brothers, Scott Yates, Roni Yates, Doni Yates, Roger Yates and David Yates all of Arcadia, Fl., one sister Tammie Puga of Arcadia, Fl. and his maternal grandfather Charles Morgan, Fort Myers, Fl., numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, today, October 26, 2008 at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will follow the visitation at 4:00PM with Brother Roger Yates officiating.
