Robert "Bob"
Rankin Treadwell
July 27, 1942 – July 14, 2023
Bob was born and raised in Arcadia, Florida. Bob was married to the love of his life, Carol, for 27 years. He is also survived by his daughters Paige (Scott) Williams and Farrah (Dan) Ryals; by his grandchildren Cason Cross, Dailyn Ryals, Hadley Williams, and Halyn Williams. He is also survived by 5 step-children: Diana Heitman, Donna (David) deSilva, Eugene Heitman, Debbie (Eric) Eisen, and Jeffrey (Kathy) Heitman and 12 step-grandchildren: Adrian, Samuel, Baila (Louis), Jonathan, Austin (Abby), Rebekah, Asher, Emma (Cody), Alexander (McKenna), Shmuel, Marshall, and Meir. He also is survived by 2 great-grandsons, 1 step-great-grandson and 1 on the way. He is survived by one first cousin, Tom Gaskins. Bob is survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends.
His parents, Edgar Douglas Treadwell, Jr. and Rachel Bible Treadwell, and sister, Sue T readwell Ladd and brother, Edgar Douglas Treadwell, III preceded him in death.
Bob worked in agriculture all of his life as a watermelon farmer and as a fruit buyer. He also was in the military.
Bob was an avid golfer and participated in several amateur golf tournaments and won a number of them.
Bob loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were favorite past-times of his. As a child and as an adult he loved going hunting with his father and his father's friends. As a boy he loved camping trips with his buddies. As an adult he loved having his own boat to go out fishing. Alone or with friends, he loved being out on the boat, but the best times were when Carol was with him.
Bob could tell a great story. He could give details of every golf-round he played, every fishing or hunting trip, every hand of poker he ever played, and every watermelon field he ever planted!
