Obituary

Robert "Bob" Vann McManus, 79, of Bowling Green, FL passed away on September 13 th , 2020 in Wauchula, FL. He was born on November 18 th , 1940 in Union County, NC; he lived in Florida for 38 years.

Robert worked for many years as a furniture salesman in North Carolina, and was above all else a family man who loved to spend time with his children and wife of 33 years, Pamela McManus. In his free time he could often be found watching the weather and "forecasting" or listening to music; he never heard a song he didn't like and could sit for hours listening to all kinds of music, and was known as a night owl. He was also an animal lover, and saw his cats and dogs as his family. Robert found great joy in making others laugh as well, and those who knew him will remember him as a real jokester and comedian.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Pamela and their two children, Daniel and Wife Veronica McManus of Avon Park, FL and Micheal McManus of Bowling Green, FL; his stepdaughter, Marci Ellen Smith and fiance James Hicks of Lorida, FL; and his brothers-in-law, William McKinney, Jr. of Sebring, FL and Robert McKinney of Okeechobee, FL. Robert is also survived by children from previous marriages, Robert and Christopher McManus of Thomasville, NC, and his daughter Kimberly and husband Roger Hiatt of Thomasville, NC, and son Ronald McManus of Thomasville, NC; as well as a sister, Rachel Baines of Thomasville, NC; and many nieces and nephews from Florida and North Carolina, 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret McManus; his brothers, Bill and Donald McManus; his twin sister, Patricia Ann Robinson; and his sisters Claire Ruth and Peggy McManus.

Robert will be laid to rest at Paynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Bowling Green, FL.
