Robert Bob Leon Tison Sr., 82 of Arcadia Florida passed away March 27, 2011 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte after a brief illness. Bob was born in Frost Proof Florida on February 12,1929. He was the last surviving sibling in his family and was preceded in death by his Parents Ralph N. and Minnie Lee Tison, 3 Brothers and two Sisters. Bob joined the Army in 1946, serving in the Mountain Brigade at Ft Carson, Co. He transferred to the Army Air Corp and was Honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. From there he attended the University of Florida and onto the University of South Florida, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Citrus Horticulture. Upon receiving his degree he went to work for the USDA, then onto B&W Foods, Libbys Minutemaid, and Agricultural Management Service. He was the Owner of Tison Citrus Management Service Inc. upon his retirement. Bob was a member of the American Legion and Scottish Rite Bodies of Ocala & Ft Myers. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and Cruising the back roads of the Citrus Fields. But most of all, being in his yard with his Animals. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years1 Pauline G. Tison, 1 Daughter Lori Marszal and Husband John of Lake Worth Florida. 2 Sons, Patrick Bristol of Dexter, New York and Robert L Tison Jr. and wife Anita of Hayesville, N.C. , 3 Grandchildren, Johnny R. Marszal of Lake Worth, Florida, Melissa Tison Joiner and her Husband Chris of Pt. St. Lucie, Florida and William L. Tison of Hayesville, N.C. Bob also leaves behind his faithfull Companions, Scooter, Goobie and Oogie. The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Desoto County Humane Society in memory of Robert L.Tison Sr. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
