Robert A. "Bobby" Palmer, passed away comfortably June 18, 2020 in Wauchula at 94 years old. He was born on January 13, 1926 to the late Charles and Elizabeth Coggins Palmer in St. Louis, Michigan. He moved to Florida at the age of 5 and has remained a resident of the area.

He served the US Navy and was honorably discharged May 29, 1946 and then moved to Arcadia, Florida. He married the love of his life Jessie "Lucille" Nelson June 23, 1949 and were married 64 years. In 1958 they welcomed their only child Lance into the family.

He owned and operated Palmer Spreader Service, since 1960, located on Hwy 70 where Auto Zone is now located. In 1987 his son took over the family business where he continued to work with Lance until March of this year.

Bobby is survived by his son Lance Palmer, and wife Sharon. Grandchildren Shannon & Robert Martin of Sebring, FL., Chris and Ladonna Andreu of Polk City, FL., Jennifer Canfield of Punta Gorda, FL, Robb and Chelsea Palmer of Arcadia, FL., 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by all and his dog little "Chevy"

He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, his parents, sisters; Janet, Wilma, Pauline & Ester, brothers; George and Raymond.

Bobby loved to walk Horse Creek fishing and hunting, he always grew a garden suppling vegetables to family and friends. His family was his greatest accomplishment in life.

A Celebration of Bobby's life will be announced at a later date.
