Robert J. Bentley SR. peacefully gained his wings at the age of 90, on Wednesday, October 20 th . He was born on January 22, 1931.
Robert was in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-1960. He was a crane operator and left the Corps as a Lance Corporal E3. After the Marine Corp, he stayed in heavy machinery and worked in the rock quarry in Revere, MA.
Robert was a proud hard-working man. He loved his animals. His Bird Uno and his Cows were his favorite. He and his sister Rita moved to Florida from New England in 1980 and settled in Arcadia (Pine Level) after a long journey around the state to find the perfect place.
He left behind Lillian Lawrence (the love of his life), 7 children Julie Cincotta Ma, Debra Wilson Arcadia, Robin Swenson, Kathleen Doucet, Kimberly Bentley, Robert Bentley Jr., Michael Bentley, all of Massachusetts, and sister Clara Van Cott Sarasota. 15 grandchildren: Jennifer Diplatzi MA, Ronald Dows Fort Myers, Angelia (Buck) Wilson Arcadia, Kelly (Christopher) White Arcadia, Kristina (Brad) Agent Arcadia, Shannon Whiting NH, Thomas Boudreau, Melissa Mallon, Mark Swenson, Ashley Swenson, Zachary Fazio, Skylar Bentley, Tara Bentley, Tanya Lowe, and Joshua Graciale all of Massachusetts.17 great-grandchildren Mikayla Diplatzi, Justin Diplatzi, Ronald Dows III, Brendon (Amber), Shane Wilson, Kayla White, Morgen White, Amber White, Hunter White, Leigha Agent, Athen Agent, Torianne Whiting, RJ Whiting, Autumn Whiting, Cory McNeil, Tyler Mallon, Jacson Almeida, Kylie Almeida and two Great- Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl E. and Henneritta Brian Bentley, siblings Earl Bentley, Jr. William Bentley, Rita Bentley, and Jeanette Crowell.
A Visitation and Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26 th at 10:00 am in the Ponger- Kays- Grady Funeral Home chapel, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. A private burial will be held at a later date.
