Obituary

Robert V. Aaron, age 80, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 in Sarasota, FL. He was born November 27, 1930 in Monticello, GA. Robert and Betty moved to Arcadia 42 years ago from Washington, D.C. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Robert served our country for 20 years in the United States Air Force with tours of duty in Korea, Germany, and at the Pentagon. After retiring from the service Major Aaron spent the rest of his working career in the medical field as a hospital administrator. Bob enjoyed the outdoors which included fishing, boating, camping and gardening. He loved football and cheered for the Florida teams, The Buccaneers and Dolphins. He always looked forward to Christmas, his favorite time of year. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty A. Aaron of Arcadia, FL., two sons; Robert V. (Elaine)Aaron of Plantation, FL. and Bruce C.(Nattinee) Aaron of Sarasota, FL.; one brother Francis (Bobbie) Aaron of Stone Mountain, GA; seven grandchildren Abigail, Robert, Kellianne, Dylan, Lily, Anthony and Catherine; several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 9:30 until 10:30 at the First Baptist Church 1006 N. Brevard Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Funeral Services will be at the conclusion of the gathering at 10:30 AM at the Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Englert officiating. Burial will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:00PM where the Veterans Honor Guard will render military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Robert s name be made to First Baptist Church (address above) or to the Robert Aaron Annual Scholarship at Reinhardt University, 7300 Reinhardt Circle, Waleska, GA 30183.
