Richard L. Dick Sines, age 90, passed away September 9, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. Dick was born April 9, 1921 in flora, Indiana. He moved to Arcadia in 1978 from Flora, IN. Dick was a truck driver most of his working life. His last job was with Griffin Concrete until they went out of business. He loved mowing grass and just staying busy. Dick was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U. S. Army, participating in the EAME Theater, where he was awarded the EAME Ribbon with three bronze stars, Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Dick was a member of the VFW Peace River Post 2824 and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcadia, FL. Survivors are a son Richard W. Sines, a brother Wayne G., Sines, Flora IN, special friends, Lucy Strickland and Chuck Sloan, and numerous other friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sines. Visitation will be conducted from 9:00AM until 10:00AM, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM. Military honors will be rendered by the Desoto Honor Guard at funeral home chapel.
