Richard Steven Locke, Steve age 36, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 in North Port, FL. He was born May 8, 1975 in Fort Myers, FL. and moved to Punta Gorda at 12 years of age with his family. Steve was of the Christian faith. Steve will be remembered as a family man, he loved his entire family. He enjoyed doing activities with his wife Shannon and their five children. He also liked to hunt, camping in the woods, spending time on the Peace River and going out to the Redneck Yacht Club. Steve was owner of Steve Locke Shell & Fill and also worked for Site Development Services (SDS). He is survived by his loving wife, Shannon J. Godwin Locke of Punta Gorda, FL., four sons Clayton Adkins, Cameron Adkins, Steven Leelend Locke, and Tanner Locke all of Punta Gorda, FL., one daughter Nevaeh Locke of Punta Gorda, FL., parents Richard E and Kathleen Walker Locke of Punta Gorda, FL., one sister Brittney Locke of Punta Gorda, Fl., father and mother- in- law David and Naomi Godwin of Punta Gorda, FL, paternal grandfather Milford Locke of Punta Gorda ,Fl maternal grandmother Catherine Walker of Punta Gorda, Fl., sister in law Ann Godwin of Punta Gorda, Fl., nieces Emily and Meagan Bennett, and nephew Shane Locke all of Punta Gorda, FL. Steve was preceded in death by his Grandpa Walker and Grandma Locke. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11:00AM at the chapel of Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes, 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda with Rev. Donald Rock of Leigh Acres, Fl. officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Springs Cemetery.
