Richard Dickie H. Butler, Sr., age 66, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 in Port Charlotte. He was born August 26, 1943 in Arcadia, FL. and a lifetime resident. He was of the Baptist Faith. Dickie was a very loving and caring, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed by them very much. Dickie also loved to fish, and attended DeSoto High School, Class of 1961 He is survived by his loving wife, Marolyn Jean Butler, of Arcadia, FL., three sons, Richard H. Butler, Jr. of Punta Gorda, FL., William L. (Beverly) Butler of Fort Ogden, FL and Phillip E. (Heather) Portwood of Valrico, FL, one daughter, Lisa Ann (Steve) Sienkiewicz of St. Louis, MO., one brother, Donald (Jo) Butler of Rydal, GA , six sisters, Virginia (Paul) Goodson of Lehigh Acres, FL, Marjory (Jimmy) Harrison of Wauchula, FL., Joyce (Jack) Pettis of Plant City, FL., Eugenia Hawkins of Greenville, SC., Nancy Young of Daytona Beach, FL., and Sandra (David) Shanahan of Del Rio, TN., four grand children, Dustin, Heather, William and Austin , great-grand daughter, Lilly ,and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William L. & Myrtle E. Simmons Butler. Visitation will be held Friday, November 27, 2009 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00PM the same evening. Burial will be at a later date.
