Philip J. Ryan age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Port Charlotte, FL. Philip was born August 12, 1924 in Washington, D.C., moving to Arcadia, FL 11 years ago from Anderson, SC. He owned a bowling sports shop in Anderson. He was a scratch golfer, who enjoyed a very low handicap. Philip was also a better than average bowler. He earned a perfect 300 ring, showing that he belonged to a very elite group of bowlers. He loved traveling and going on cruises. He was very involved in the activities of the Brookside Bluffs, the community in which he resided. Philip was a veteran of the U. S. Army and of the protestant faith. Survivors are; his beloved wife, Bettie G. Ryan, Arcadia, FL, two daughters, Christina (Marshall) Malino-Butts, Cleveland, OH and Marguerite (Howard) Beckler, Altamonte Springs, FL, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Philip J. and Marguerite Volkman Ryan and a sister Marguerite Gulli-LeRoy.
