Philip E. Burnworth of Arcadia, Florida passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 2, 1937, to Orval Lloyd Burnworth and Doris Jean Phillips Burnworth.
The family lived in Oceanside, CA a few years before moving to Los Alamos, NM in 1946. Following his graduation from high school in 1955, he joined the Navy and served on an aircraft carrier working on the jet planes. After being discharged from the Navy he returned to Los Alamos where he served on the Police Force for two years. Phil went to work for Atomic Energy Commission, now Department of Energy in 1960 in Albuquerque, NM. He retired 35 years later.
He is survived by his wife Patricia M. Burnworth, a sister Orvalene Fink in California, his daughters Christy Burnworth in Maine and Jennifer M. Burnworth in Florida, and his sons Philip E. Burnworth in Maine, and Steven R. Burnworth in New Mexico. He also has five grandchildren, Scott, Amanda, Heather, Connor and Paige Burnworth.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Belinda Teller.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 2:00pm at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL where Military Honors will be presented.
