Peyton Ira South, age 60 passed away on June 20, 2022 in Tampa, FL. He was born on May 4, 1962 in Pulaski, VA. to the late Eugene Clark South and Dorothy Mae Edwards South. Peyton had been a resident of Desoto County for 40 years, moving here from Virginia.

Peyton was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Peyton was a mechanic by profession and had always been a great family provider. His most important passion was spending time with his family, enjoying many outdoor activities such as mudding, fishing, shooting and his horses. Peyton also enjoyed playing games on his tablet. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

He is survived by his loving wife, Penny South of Arcadia, FL.; three sons Payton Adam South, Matthew Ryan (Lisa Nicole)South all of Arcadia and Joshua Byron ( Regina Lynn) South of Port Charlotte, FL.; brothers Charles Eugene(Clitia) South and Thomas Fritz (Cindy) South both of Arcadia, FL.; one sister Carol Sue South of Arcadia, FL.; nine grandchildren and four nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents Andrew Peyton and Mattie Mae Edwards and paternal grandparents Ira South and Marybeth Horner.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the chapel of Ponger-Kays Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, FL. 34266

Funeral Service will follow his visitation at 2:00pm at the chapel with Rev. Ellis Cross officiating. Burial be then be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia.
