Penny Lynn South, age 60 passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Arcadia, FL. She was born on January 15, 1963 in Norfolk, VA to the late Billy and Linda Eakin Quesenberry. Penny was of the Baptist faith.

Penny was a very loving and caring wife, mother and granny! She will be missed beyond measure! Penny was the family matriarch, the glue that held everything together! She always felt that her family was her biggest and most cherished accomplishment. Penny was a very selfless but strong and resilient person, so much so, that just last year, after losing her husband (her lifetime partner, her best friend) she still chose to sacrifice and fight the hard battle just to be able to spend more time with her family. Her family is so very grateful for that.

Penny worked hard her entire life spending over 30 years working for the State of Florida before retiring. In her spare time if she wasn't surrounded by family and grand babies, she enjoyed bingeing her tv series and playing her Temu.

She is survived by three sons Payton A. South, Matthew R. (Lisa) South all of Arcadia, and Joshua B. (Regina) South of Port Charlotte. One sister Polly (Rodney) Thomas of Indiana, two brothers Jesse Bradley and Billy Quesenberry both of Virginia, Nine grandchildren, Devin, Levi, Payton, Angie, Clayton, Kimber, Harlynn, Joshua and Jaxen.

Penny was preceded in death by her husband Payton I. South and her parents.

Remembrance of life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00. At the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Services will be held by Rev. Ellis Cross of N. Hillsborough Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow after at Oakridge Cemetery, Arcadia.
