Mr. Paul Vernon Davis passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. He was born June 13, 1944, in Patriot, Indiana to William F. and Julia (Waller) Davis.

Paul had lived in the community for 25 years. He graduated from Patriot High School in 1962. He was a Truck Driver and had been employed by TNT Holland in Holland Michigan. In 1986 He won awards for State Truck Driving Champion and the National Truck Drivers Rodeo Champion. He was also a Veteran of the US Air Force.

He was a member of the Patriot Baptist Church. He enjoyed driving cars and/or trucks and playing cards.

He will be remembered as a friendly, kind person who had a unique sense of humor. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Davis who passed in 2008 and his parents William F. Davis and Julia Carolyn (Waller) Davis, and stepson Robert Wheat.

He is survived by his longtime companion Ailene Wheat and stepsons, William (Elizabeth) Wheat, Richard (Colleen) Wheat and step daughter-in-law Shirley Wheat.

There will be a Memorial Service at a later date.
