April 10, 1985 – November 7, 2022
Mr. Paul William Bechler of Myakka City, Florida passed away on November 7, 2022. Paul was born on April 10, 1985, in Pontiac, Michigan. He graduated from DeSoto County High School in 2003.
He had lived in the area for 20 years and worked as a Journeyman Lineman for 18 years with Florida Power and Light.
He received his Associates Degree from South Florida State College in Electrical Linework and was an Apprentice Instructor as well.
He was very involved with the Arcadia Youth Livestock Show as a Board Member. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 820.
Paul attended St. Paul's Catholic Church with his family, was the owner of Bechler Family Farm, and was a Board member of the Manatee County Show Pig Supporters.
Paul was an avid hunter and swine breeder. He had a great love for family farming. He was a generous, hardworking man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Codi Bechler, and his children, Bailey Jo Bechler and Luke William Bechler, all of Myakka City, Florida. Paul's parents are father, Robert Bechler, also of Myakka City, FL, and his mother, Faye Bechler, of Ellenton, FL, and his grandmother, Judith Bennett, of Ellenton, FL. Paul is survived by his brothers and sisters, Melissa Bechler, Jonathan Bechler, Matthew (Ashley) Bechler and Mary (Madus) Oosthuizen.
Paul had several nieces and nephews that he loved and cared greatly for including Jon Cary, Wyatt Bechler, Adriana Campbell, Cooper Johnson, Molly Bickett, Lyla Johnson, Maverick Johnson and Thomas Bickett.
He was preceded in death by Robert Bechler, Mildred Bechler, Clement Zammit, Adeline Zammit, Doug Jones, Logan Bickett, David Brown and Bill and Karen Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bechler Children Education Fund. Please mail donations to 39505 Taylor Road, Myakka City, FL 34251.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, from 5-7PM, 50 North Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church with the burial to follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
