Oscar B. Eastman, age 97 passed away Friday June 18, 2010 at home in Arcadia, FL. He was born January 23, 1913 in Levering, MI. Oscar moved in Desoto County in 1992 from Winter Haven, FL. He was a member of the Arcadia First Church of the Nazarene. Oscar worked for many years at the Detroit Edison Company before retiring to Florida. He enjoyed many types of painting especially working with oils and loved to do wood carving. Oscar is survived by two daughters, Marilyn J. Bright of Port Huron, MI and Grace A. (Gary) Bordner of Arcadia, Fl; one son Lawrence E. (Mary) Eastman of Racine, WI; one brother Murl J. (Virginia) Eastman of Ann Arbor, MI.; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Eastman; parents Orville P. and Margaret Watson Eastman; son Wayne Burton; brother Addison Eastman and sister Eveis Baldwin. A visitation will be Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Ted Stanton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
