Ora Lee Thornton, age 87, pasted away in Lake Placid, Fl. June 23, 2009. Ora Lee was born December 28, 1921 in Alma, Ga.. She lived in Arcadia, Fl. for the past 8 years, moving here from Sebring, Fl. Ora Lee enjoyed sewing and upholstering. She put her skills to good use at the Highlands Upholstery, Sebring, Fl. where she and her husband sewed and upholstered furniture for several years. Ora Lee loved keeping house for her family and spending time with them. Ora Lee loved her Lord and sharing His love with everyone she met. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Arcadia, Fl. Survivors are her three sons; James P. Jim (Barbara) Thornton, Arcadia, Fl. Gerald (Francis) Thornton, Lake Placid, Fl. and Darrell Thornton, Sebring, Fl. She also leaves a daughter; Angela Lynn (Gary) Mooney, Sebring Fl., ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Clifford Thornton, a brother, Jay Hugh Hyers and two sisters, Ula Mae Swain and pearl Meadows. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Visitation will be from 9:00Am until 10:00AM and funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Saturday, June27, 2009 from Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Screven, Ga... Burial will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery, Screven, Ga.
