Opal H. Sorrells, age 91, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away November 12, 2009 in Arcadia. Opal was born in Hiram, Ga. August 9, 1918 to Charlie and Lou Ella Denson Hardy. Opal moved from Hiram, Ga. to Arcadia, Fl. in 1945. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and yard work. She also was an avid reader. She loved reading God s Word, the Holy Bible daily, having read the Holy Bible from cover to cover several times. Opal loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Survivors are her son Steve (Betsy) Sorrells, Arcadia, Fl. and a daughter LaDane (Craig) Soria, Nokomis, Fl. She also leaves 5 grandchildren; Kristie (Kevin) Joens, Justin Sorrells, Adam (Summer) Sorrells all of Arcadia and Michael (Carolyn) Mitchell, Safety Harbor, Fl. and Weston (Kelly) Soria, of Arcadia, Fl. and six great grandchildren. Opal was preceded in death by her beloved husband W. R. Sorrells, September 4, 1971. Visitation will be from 6:00PM-8:00PM Saturday, November 14, 2009 from Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM, Sunday, November 15, 2009 from the graveside at Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia, Fl.
