Olivo Olvera Avila passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1947, in Lagunillas, SanLuis Potosi, Mexico, to Benigno Olvera and Arnulfa Avila. Olivo moved to Arcadia in 1979.

He was a member of the Alfa y Omega Church in Arcadia. He worked as a Grove Keeper for many years. Considered among his accomplishments was the raising of 7 children, 2 daughters and 5 sons. He enjoyed gardening and being a helper to his wife of 53 years, Maura Posadas Olvera.

He will be remembered as a hardworking man that encouraged his sons and daughters to excel at work and in life.

He is survived by his wife Maura and his daughters and sons; Olga Olvera, Oscar Olvera, Herman Olvera, Sonia Olvera (Gerardo) Garcia, Olivo (Amanda) Olvera, Orlando (Kelley) Olvera, and Arnoldo (Clarisa) Olvera. He has 2 brothers, Ovidio Avila and Hilarion Olvera. There are 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00AM – 10:30AM, in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL 34266. The Service with begin at 10:30AM in the Chapel.
