Nona Louise Mathews, age 75, passed away Monday morning October 23, 2023, in Arcadia, Florida. She was born October 7, 1948, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Harold and Helen Schaffer. She graduated in the class of 1966 from Loy Norrix High School Kalamazoo, Michigan. Nona loved to crochet, read books, and loved dogs. She volunteered at the Parchment School District in Michigan.

Nona's family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert W. Mathews Sr., son Robert (Karen) Mathews Jr. From Delta Junction, Alaska, and daughters Susan Mathews from West Richland, Washington, Brenda (Joel) Fraga from Miami, Florida, and sister Frankie Trudell from Portage, Michigan along with 6 grandchildren, Alex R. Mathews (fiancé Catherine Bristow), Ashley Caraballo, Alex Ceballos, Nathan Fraga, Nicholas Fraga, Nicole Fraga and Nephew Matthew Trudell.

Nona is preceded in death by her parents, and nephew Christopher (Trudell) Bullmer.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
