Myrtle Bishop Summerall, age 93, passed away, Sunday, September 20, 2009 in Arcadia, Fl. Myrtle was born January 12, 1916 in Georgia, she and her family moved to DeSoto County 85 years. She worked as a labeling machine operator for the old DeSoto Canning Company and also worked for Sunny South Citrus Packing Co. Myrtle was an avid seamstress, sewing quilts and Afghans for her family and mending any tears in their cloths. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Wierichs, Sarasota, Fl. three grandchildren; Lori Eskew, Sarasota, Rick (Rhonda) Wierichs and Missie (Dave) Chupp both of Myakka City, Fl., nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert L. Summerall in 2005. A visitation to celebrate Myrtle s passing will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Graveside services will be at 9:00AM Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia, Fl.
